Headlines come and go. People do not. Myanmar's humanitarian crisis reminds us that suffering does not end when the world's attention moves on.
Every day, thousands of headlines compete for our attention.
Some stay. Most disappear. But people do not stop suffering simply because the cameras leave.
Myanmar is one of the world's largest humanitarian crises, yet it receives only a fraction of the sustained global attention given to many other conflicts. Since the military coup in 2021, fighting has displaced millions of people and left entire communities struggling to access food, healthcare, education, and safety.
According to the United Nations, more than 16 million people now require humanitarian assistance, while nearly 3.8 million people have been displaced.
A crisis does not become less urgent simply because it receives fewer headlines.
